Minutes of the Willo-Esque Homeowners Association Board of Directors meeting held Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Maple Ridge apartment complex clubhouse.

            Roger Sackreiter called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.  Board members present were Roger Sackreiter and Andrea Johanning.

            OLD BUSINESS – The first order of business was to appoint a new board member and president of the board to serve out the unexpired term of Mattie Sackreiter.  Roger moved to appoint Jerry Johanning to the position.  Andrea seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

            MINUTES – The minutes of the May 10, 2005 meeting were reviewed.  Roger moved to accept the minutes as printed.  Andrea seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

            FINANCIAL REPORT – After review of the financial report, Roger moved to accept it as printed.  Andrea seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

            NEW BUSINESS – The board presented a proposed budget for 2006.  Roger pointed out that funds are included to add a covered storage space on the north side of the pool complex for storage to help alleviate the crowded storage space in the existing storage building.  Andrea moved to except the new budget as proposed.  Roger seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

            ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE REPORT – Bob Lawrence reported that changes to an existing fence had been approved on Sheriac St. and a new storage building had been conditionally approved in Willo-Esque.  Some of those conditions have not been met so that needs to be brought to the attention of the homeowner.

            Roger reported that a storage shed had been erected in Second Edition without the approval of the architectural committee.  He also reported that a new composite roof has been put on a home on El Stranda and another on a home on Vantage View.

            COMMON GROUND – Roger said the common ground is usually fertilized every other year but it has been so dry this year that horticulturists are recommending it not be done this year.

            Roger also reported that the park benches along the sidewalks the area are well worn, some are broken, and all are in need of replacement.

            Betty Peters reported a dead tree on the common ground near Ridge Road.  Roger said that Jay Miller will be removing it.

PLAYGROUNDS – The baby swings in Fourth Edition are broken and need to be replaced.

            SWIMMING POOL STATUS – Roger said he would retain the position of pool manager.

            TENNIS COURTS – Roger reported that last winter’s ice storm ruined the nets on the double tennis courts and the volleyball net.  Those have now been replaced.

            NEW BUSINESS – Roger reported that Jan Doze has resigned as the Willo-Esque bookkeeper and that he will be performing those duties for the time being.  Roger also said the Willo-Esque web site at http://willo-esque.com/ is kept current and there are links to many resources there.  One of those is the e-mail address of the neighborhood policeman for our area which is: dwertz@wichita.gov

            ANNUAL BOARD ELECTION – Roger reported that the annual election for one board member position will be on Tuesday evening, May 9th.  The poles will be open from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

            ADJURMENT - The meeting adjourned at 8:14 p.m.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt – The annual Easter Egg-hunt will be held at on Noon on Saturday April 15, 2006 by the Pool Complex.  Age categories are 0 to 3yrs, 4 to 6 yrs, and 7 to 10 yrs.  Volunteers are encourage to help and/or donate candy and goodies.  If you are willing to help out, Please call Marcia Fletcher at 946-1114 or Andrea Johanning at 942-1074.

 

Area Wide Garage Sales – The annual garage sales for the area will be held the last full week of April on Thursday. Friday, and Saturday, April 27, 28, and 29, 2006.  If you are planning to have a garage sale please get a permit from the City of Wichita.  This is a non-sponsored Willo-Esque Board event.

 

Annual Meeting and Board Election – Willo-Esque HOA annual meeting and Board of Directors annual election will be held on May 9, 2006 at the Maple-Ridge Apartment Complex meeting room.  If anyone is interested in running for the Board, Please contact a Board member so your name can be on the ballot and published to the Community.  Roger Sackreiter’s term on the Board is expiring.

 

Lifeguards - Pool Manager is currently looking for Lifeguards.  If you know of anyone or if you are interested call Roger - 946-0713.
