Minutes of the Willo-Esque Homeowners Association Board of Directors meeting held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Maple Ridge apartment complex clubhouse.  Andrea Johanning was absent.

Roger Sackreiter called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and declared that the poles were open for the annual board member election.

MINUTES – The minutes of the February 21, 2008 meeting were reviewed.  Roger moved to accept the minutes as printed.  Jerry Johanning seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

FINANCIAL REPORT – Roger said that the emphasis this year will be on adding trees to the common grounds.  The board will also be adding new gates, locks, and card readers to the tennis courts and adding one more security camera.

Roger read a list of homeowners that the board has placed liens against their property for back HOA dues and then discussed the circumstances surrounding each of them.

COMMON GROUNDS STATUS – Jay Miller reported on what kinds of trees are available and what each variety would cost.  Prices range from $80 to $140 per tree and Jay plans to plant them during the month of June.  There was some discussion of planting fruit trees in the 11 sidewalk triangle areas in Willo-Esque.  The board decided to discuss that more at a later date.

ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE – Bob Lawrence reported that a new wrought iron fence has been approved in First Addition.  Roger reported that posts have been installed for a new fence in Second Addition.

NEW BUSINESS – Roger stated that there have been a number of trailers parked in driveways in the area in violation of area covenants.  He said that letters have been drafted and will be mailed to those property owners concerning those violations.

SOCIAL AND RECREATION COMMITTEE – Roger said that about 75 children attended the Easter Egg Hunt on March 22nd and that a good time was had by all.

PLAYGROUND STATUS – Jay has put up a new backboard on the basketball court in Fourth Addition.  Roger reported that vandals have broken a number of pieces of the playground equipment and the board is researching what it will take to repair or replace them.

MAINTAINCE BUILDING – Roger said that vandals tore up four of the twelve solar heating panels and some of the plumbing that goes with them.  They have been repaired.

NEIGHBORHOOD SECURITY – Roger said the police have cautioned the neighborhood to close garage doors and take car keys out of the ignition when leaving the car unattended as there have been a number of related thefts in the neighborhood lately.  Anyone wanting to know about current policing problems in the neighborhood can go to the Willo-Esque web page and click on “Community Police Officer”.  That will take you to a report about Beat 16 that covers Willo-Esque.

Neighborhood Night Out will be on Tuesday, August 5th this year for those who wish to plan something to participate.

RECESS – Roger called a recess at 7:50 p.m. to await the closing of the poles.  The meeting reconvened at 8:30 p.m.

ELECTION – Roger announced that the poles were closed at 8:30 p.m.  He said that the votes had been counted and that Jerry Johanning had been elected to a new three year term on the HOA board.
